Trees Indiana

Trees Indiana’s Nature Explore Classroom has been serving students since 2014. Trees Indiana’s summer programming was a highlight in 2023. For the first time since the pandemic we reunited with the Boys & Girls Club of Fort Wayne for summer field trips. Five groups visited, including many youth who rarely travel outside their zip code. Students and leaders had a blast, despite high temperatures. Of course, activity areas located in the woods provided a welcome relief.

Sand castles in the art area, “battle of the bands” in the music area, fort building in messy materials and using hand lenses to discover “amazing creepy crawlers” were some of the top hits. “I didn’t like it here today, I LOVED it,” was a response shouted out when boarding the bus back home. The groups are eager to return for summer of 2024!
