Kids International
This year, we have added a new sand pit to the outdoor classroom area. The children have enjoyed helping clean up the sticks and leaves that have fallen off of the trees after many storms we have had this year.
During nicer weather days, we have enjoyed playing music outside and dancing with each other. We have also worked on some of our various art activities at the tables outside. Our pre-k class have helped clean-up the garden and plant various fruits and vegetables. We have had fundraisers like Art to Remember where the children will create an art project in the classroom and the families can purchase their child’s artwork on various items like a cup, magnet, shirt etc. We have a family picnic in the summer that we hold every year. There is a silent auction with gift baskets that is sponsored by our parent advisory board, and it is also a fundraiser to help raise money for the school.
Our future plans are to add an outdoor classroom book, adding some easels for art, provide a special place for various art materials to be kept in for the outdoor classroom, adding some sort of wall for funnels attached for water and pouring materials into buckets, sensory bins to bring outside, adding an area where we can hang a mirror for kids to do dress-up outside. We also plan to have another garden planted this coming spring.
