Child’s Play Family Child Care

Our outdoor classroom continues to play a key role in teaching our students about the world around them.

We continue to aim to create a quality environment where children can explore, allowing them to learn, develop and most importantly, have a sense of being and belonging. Our students are encouraged to explore everything. We want them to feel the peace and freedom that nature provides.

Over the past year we’ve continue to add open-ended materials to previously created areas. Gardening continues to be one of the children’s all time favorite things to do. A raised garden bed was built to allow room for further exploration. Our students tested and discovered different ways to start the plant growing process.

As the garden grew it provided lots of hands on opportunities to care and harvest the fresh vegetables. We made many meals with our veggies from the garden. We also promoted healthy eating by sending home a supply of vegetables to our families.
