Child Development Center
As we give tours, we continue to find parents are drawn to us for our unique outdoor space in the woods.
Many appreciate the natural environment and organic materials rather than plastic toys and embedded climbers commonly found in many early learning centers. For others, they are not as comfortable with “the mess” and risk that comes with a natural environment like ours and have many questions about our philosophy and practices. We welcome these opportunities to share our vision and beliefs about the importance of children’s connection with nature and their ability to take appropriate risks.
Our plans for this year include upgrading our other outdoor classroom with a large locust log retaining wall, open-ended play structure, bike paths and musical additions. We are planning a community build with our parents and teachers working together to upgrade this space.
