Log Cabin Learning Academy

Since opening in 1999 our log cabin buildings and large play area have provided a unique experience for families within our community.

Since working with Nature Explore we are very proud of our transformation to a true outdoor classroom. The large space surrounded by massive oak trees provides a unique outdoor experience for the children, families and staff.

Working with the Nature Explore Consultants, our mentors from Ft. Hood and the Central Texas Workforce Board have provided us great guidance in maximizing the aesthetic appeal and functional use of our space.

Creating our plan of improvement provided us a very organic opportunity to involve family members whose skill set couldn’t be used as well in the indoor classroom. The process has improved staff morale and family involvement. We look forward to incorporating additional plant life to our playground and have tasked our family involvement committee to create additional events that allow parents, children and community members to work and learn together outside.
