The Nature Explore Classroom at

In our outdoor classroom, we have balancing logs and stumps for kids to explore. We also have a garden with flowered trees and seasonal flowers and veggies. In our Nature art area with have wood slices and pinecones for painting.

We have invested in quality furniture from plywood and natural materials to help withstand the weather. We also plant seasonal plants and bulbs to continue growth of plants throughout each season.

Our outdoor space has specific aesthetics allowing children and parents to know that it is our outdoor classroom. It includes colorful burlap flags, a shaded space with large turquoise umbrellas, music and movement materials along with fence line and a log cabin for exploring the mud kitchen.

We have incorporated a family celebration wall, designed with wooden ornaments designed by our families and teaching staff. This beautiful wall helps us celebrate everyone within our School Family in our outdoor classroom.

We partnered with our local hardware store in Bloomington to help us create bird houses along the fence line, giving the children an opportunity to become little birders in the community!

We had no challenges creating our space, very thankful for New Horizon Academy and their support for our center!
