The Nature Explore Classroom at
New Horizon Academy-Savage
Our outdoor classroom was created by our teachers, school director, and preschool children. Our goal is to bring the classrooms outside for dirt, mess, and exploration. Children can learn so much from the outdoors, and we’re excited to provide this opportunity for them.

In our Nature Art area, the children can use a large easel and tables to create with paint, markers, and water. We have a large chalkboard where they can mix colors, draw, and write. Our Building area has blocks, cones, and tubes to use and build with. Our Large Loose Parts & Messy Materials area includes wood pieces, gourds, and buckets to use for building and playing on tree stumps. The children can use buckets, shovels, and gloves to dig and play in the dirt. The Gathering area includes soft seating for children to listen to stories and share ideas during group time. In our Music & Movement area, the children are able to express their creativity through sounds and waving ribbons.
We look forward to the fun and creativity that will take place in our new outdoor classroom!
