The Nature Explore Classroom at
North Tacoma Montessori Center
This is our first nature inspired/influenced center! After enrolling directors and teachers in programs to become certified nature school teachers, we wanted to create a space where being a part of nature was at the core of the school’s design and a part of the school’s focus.
Our nature center focuses on emergent curriculum within the Montessori philosophy and encourages children to explore the world while activating all of their senses in order to take in all of the information around them. The children are able to contribute to their snacks by growing food in the gardens and to learn about the things that make our community so unique!
