The Nature Explore Classroom at
On My way Preschool and Daycare Clinton
Our Nature Explore classroom is a special place where children connect with the outdoors every day. The big shade tree in the center provides a cool, peaceful space for play and learning. Around it, our sandbox invites children to dig, build, and explore using natural materials like sticks, rocks, and leaves.

Nearby, the mud kitchen is full of creativity as children mix dirt and water to make their own imaginative recipes. In the garden, they help plant, water, and watch things grow, learning how to care for living things.
We’ve designed our space to be both beautiful and easy to care for. Many of our materials are plastic to handle lots of play and weather, but we’re adding more wood and natural items that blend with the environment. Teachers and children work together to keep everything tidy and safe, learning responsibility and teamwork along the way.
Our classroom also reflects our community. We grow plants that thrive in our state and invite children, families, and staff to bring in natural materials from their own yards. These shared items—like pinecones, flowers, or stones—help make our space feel personal and connected to everyone who visits.
Families are an important part of our nature learning, too. We invite them to join us for outdoor events, help care for the garden, and explore simple nature activities at home. Together, we create a caring community where children learn to love nature, take care of their environment, and see the beauty in the world around them.
