The Nature Explore Classroom at

Welcome to On My Way Preschool and Daycare’s outdoor classroom. When we began our Nature Explore journey, our outdoor space was a simple open area, a blank slate. While it provided room for movement and laughter, but we soon realized there was more opportunity waiting.

After attending Nature Explore certification workshops, consulting other local certified classrooms, working with our CCQS coaches, and brainstorming with staff, our vision grew. We learned how combining simple objects with intentional layout, design, and natural elements could transform our outdoor area into a space where children’s meaningful play is nurtured.

Our outdoor space has become a living, flexible environment that changes with the seasons and lessons being taught. It welcomes the creativity of all our children and staff. Although we haven’t worked with contractors or volunteer groups, teamwork and a shared vision within our center community have made this project deeply personal and rewarding.

While we recognize there is more work ahead, we are excited for the future. As our education grows, we plan to continue expanding on our storage, creating more permanent and durable signs and garden areas, while maintaining the beauty, safety, functionality, and durability of our current setup, ensuring a welcoming and inspiring space for years to come
