Precious Moments Nature Preschool
In 2017 Jennifer knew her passion for Nature and spending many hours outside each day, she wanted to create an outdoor learning area for her preschool children. Jennifer visited many different Nature Schools throughout New England and through journaling at each school she visited, she began a plan.
Jennifer collected many new ideas to help create her own Nature School on her 3 acre property.
Jennifer’s family owns a construction company and through their generosity of equipment use, and
landscaping materials our Nature School began construction in 2017. Jennifer and her husband Joseph worked together for many months to create our Nature Explore Classroom. Precious Moments Nature School became a reality and opened the new space in 2019.
Precious Moments Nature School, with the help of donated materials has created the following spaces:
– 2 Nature trails built with animal identity signs throughout the trails, vernal pools, bridges and added
greenery.
– Natural stumps for outdoor learning
– Reading Nook
– Climbing area with boulders to climb, tunnels to explore, and stepping stumps
– 20×20 sandbox with many added materials
– Mud Kitchen/messy Material area
– Music and Movement stage with many instruments, scarves, and natural sounds
– Children Cottage and a Children’s Botanical Garden
– Outside 10×14 classroom for shade and shelter from weather with a 8×10 gazebo
– 10×12 Art area with an outside Easel, art table, and drawing slates
– Gardening with berries, vegatables, herbs and flowers for the children to harvest each summer/fall.
– Water area with natural flow of water into our water barrel, water table and water pump.
Our school is growing each year, adding many new areas which allows our Nature Children and their
families to explore all their senses in all of our areas. My future plan is to have more nature trails, weekend opportunities to invite new families to come explore our Nature Explore Classroom.
