The Telfair EEC Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom goal is to help nature become an integral, joyful part of children’s daily learning. Children can make connections with the living world simply by interacting with natural materials. Unlike the uniform sameness in texture that plastic toys and manipulatives have, natural materials offer various rich sensory experiences.
Every preschool has unique access to outdoor spaces. But no matter the location, everyone can step
outside. “Big nature” elements of sky, sun, plants, and animals are in rural and urban settings alike. Nature is everywhere and its benefits are for everyone, but only if we go outside!
