The Morton Arboretum
We continue to offer nature play and nature programming throughout the Arboretum. Within the Children’s Garden, families are encouraged to challenge their creativity, imagination and critical thinking with open-ended natural materials and interpretation that sparks visitors curiosity about the trees and plants surrounding them.
Daily programming is based on weather conditions for the day and features activities such as fort building, planting seeds to take home and grow and lawn games using natural materials. We also offer nature play outside of the Children’s Garden in designated nature play spaces which include a mud kitchen as well as a word garden.
Examples of programming include:
Daily Drop-In Educational Classes
Pocket Topics Birthday Parties
Special Events Volunteer Opportunities
Family Discover Backpacks
