Tony Reyes
Bilingual Child Development Center
Western Avenue

Over the past year, we have continued to sustain and enhance our Nature Explore Classroom by intentionally building on children’s interests and strengthening our outdoor learning environment.

We have added more natural materials such as logs, loose parts, and sensory elements to encourage creativity and open-ended exploration. Seasonal changes are reflected throughout the space, allowing children to experience nature in meaningful, hands-on ways year-round. One of our biggest successes has been seeing increased child engagement, independence, and collaboration as they explore, problem-solve, and connect with the natural world.

What makes our Nature Explore Classroom unique is its strong connection to our diverse community and commitment to inclusive, play-based learning. The space is designed to feel welcoming, calm, and engaging for all children, with opportunities for active play, quiet reflection, and social interaction. Visitors will see children building, digging, creating, and discovering in a space that supports all areas of development while fostering a love for nature. Our classroom truly serves as an extension of our indoor environment, where learning comes to life through hands-on, meaningful experiences.
