Wonderbloom Nature Playschool
This year at Wonderbloom, our Nature Explore Classroom has continued to thrive as both a learning environment and a community gathering place. We are especially proud of how it has become a daily hub for children’s exploration, creativity, and joy, as well as a space for families and volunteers to connect with nature alongside their children.

We held a Grand Opening and ribbon cutting in Sept 2025 with attendance from children, families, community leaders, donors, and local elected officials. It was a beautiful time to celebrate all the work that’s gone into establishing this outdoor classroom.
What makes our classroom unique is that it is not just a playground—it is a living ecosystem where children learn, grow, and build relationships. With spaces for dramatic play, climbing, digging, building, music, and gardening, every corner is designed intentionally to spark curiosity. Our Equitable Access Initiative also makes our classroom distinctive by ensuring children from all income levels have the chance to experience high-quality, nature-rich early learning.
This year, we saw several important successes. Our scholarship program expanded to serve more families in need, and our children became enthusiastic caretakers of our gardens, planting herbs, vegetables, and pollinator-friendly flowers. Volunteers and families joined in seasonal clean-up days, reminding us that maintaining this space is truly a community effort.
Visitors to our classroom often comment on its beauty and intentionality. They see children building forts from branches, painting on outdoor easels, reading under shade trees, or harvesting lettuce they planted themselves. The environment is designed to foster independence, collaboration, and a sense of stewardship for the natural world.
The voices of our community best capture the heart of this space. We often hear from recent Wonderbloom graduates, that have entered kindergarten, that they miss Wonderbloom and wish they could go back. These moments illustrate the lasting impact of nature-based learning.
We are deeply grateful to the families, staff, and volunteers who support our Nature Explore Classroom. From planting days to maintenance projects, their efforts ensure the space remains safe, beautiful, and inspiring. We especially thank our community partners who share our vision of connecting children to nature and making early learning accessible to all.
Looking ahead, we hope to expand our garden areas, add new opportunities for water play and science exploration, and continue to grow our scholarship fund so more children can benefit from this unique environment. Our Nature Explore Classroom is not only enriching children’s daily experiences, it is also strengthening our relationships with families, volunteers, and community partners. It demonstrates what is possible when education is rooted in wonder, community, and care for the natural world.
